About the Role
We are currently looking for a Pricing Tools and Landscape Actuary / Data Engineer. The position is within the Worldwide Pricing & Analytics team, which is part of the Group Underwriting Office.
Work on pricing tools and diagnostics to enhance the pricing/underwriting process
Work to maximise the value of existing tools, infrastructure, and data
Explore and enhance dashboarding and visualisation capabilities
Ensure access to data through reports and various report-delivery tools
Develop and maintain various reports for portfolio management, regulatory reporting, data analysis and data quality management
Undertake hands-on development, maintenance, and testing work using SQL, R, and Excel
Work closely with IT departments (Applications, Management Information, Data Science) to establish efficient and integrated business solutions
Potentially develop new pricing modules in Opus using RPC Model Builder
help coordinate thecollection of actuarial parameters across the company
loading and testing of parameters
data-cleaning exercises within the actuarial function (e.g. for Risk Transfer, Inflation Reporting)
Maintenance and testing of reports and tools with respect toSystem updates and upgrades
Changes in business needs
Bug identification and fixes
Support users of tools and reports (actuaries, underwriters and other business users) with regard to general queries, change and feature requests, etc.
Requirements
The role is ideal for someone who has / is:
University degree and/or higher university degree with qualifications as an actuary, in statistics, data science, or natural science with strong data-engineering / programming skills, or similar
Actuarial and/or reinsurance experience, ideally including pricing and/or reporting and statistical analysis
Experience using SQL
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of data manipulation in R (or a similar programming language)
Experience/interest in developing R Shiny dashboards an advantage
Knowledge of reporting tools including SAP Business Objects, SAP Cloud Analytics an advantage; also knowledge of Data Virtuality, RPC Tyche, an advantage
Understanding user needs, user friendliness, creativity to propose solutions leveraging technology, imagination to think beyond incremental changes, simplicity and avoiding overly complex solutions or proposals
