About the Role

With the company’s strategic growth plans in the US life reinsurance market, we have decided to create the role of Life PBR Actuary to lead the implementation effort required for adoption of Principles Based Reserves. This is a great opportunity to put your mark on this role and take that next step in your career.  Reporting into the Chief Actuary, North America Life, you will have the chance to shape the governance framework, technical policies, and process requirements for successful implementation of PBR.   • Leadership for the implementation plan, execution, and infrastructure build necessary for the adoption of Principles Based Reserving for the U.S Life reinsurance company.

  • Setup the key infrastructure requirements for PBR including experience analysis, actuarial models, documentation, and governance requirements.

  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders regarding the adoption of PBR including senior management, legal and compliance, risk and capital, State regulator, and auditors as required.

  • Provide expert knowledge and support for PBR related activities for the U.S. traditional life reinsurance and financial solutions market units, including quotation opportunities, annual business plan, and capital projections.


  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a related discipline.

  • Member of American Academy of Actuaries and/or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.

  • At minimum of 8-10 years of experience in U.S. life insurance/reinsurance, including 3-5 years in valuation.

  • Strong knowledge of principles based reserving techniques, specifically in the context of reinsurance of traditional life insurance products.

  • Working knowledge of Moody’s Axis actuarial software is a plus.

  • Strong initiative, project management, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
